Hervé Van der Straeten is a world renowned furniture and lighting designer who is best known for blending various materials, including hand-wrought bronze, applied lacquer and polished wood into bold variations of form that are typically voluminous or lattice-like in appearance. A graduate of Ecole des Beaux Arts, Van der Straeten brings his extensive knowledge of craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail to each piece that he designs. He has been recognized for his designs with numerous awards from the French Government during his career, including most recently the L’Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant and the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. Van der Straeten’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, The New York Times and The World of Interiors among others.
