Mark Shaw photographed a story on Indian inspired fashion for LIFE which was published on May 16, 1955. The story came out in conjunction with New York’s Museum of Modern Art show of Indian Textiles which opened in April of 1955. This dress was featured in the MOMA show in this somewhat bizarre tableau. All Mark Shaw prints are made to order in limited editions on Hahnemuhle photo rag paper. Each print is Estate stamped on the back and signed and numbered by David Shaw, and accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Lead time is four to six weeks, but we often receive them sooner.
