Designers' Homes, Viky Reynaud wearing Desses Dahlias, 1953

Photographed by Mark Shaw for a November 1953 issue of LIFE, socialite Viky Reynaud, a recent high school graduate, models a draped chiffon gown and jeweled collar by classic Parisian designer Desses. Standing in the “dahlia-bedecked” dining room of Desses’ two story apartment, Reynaud is surrounded by an 18th century Manila leather screen and a collection of English Silver. Desses’ apartment was formerly occupied by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, the tower builder. All Mark Shaw prints are made to order in limited editions on Hahnemuhle photo rag paper. Each print is Estate stamped on the back and signed and numbered by David Shaw, and accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Lead time is four to six weeks, but we often receive them sooner.
